Nyasa Big Bullets on Monday were officially crowned champions of the TNM Super League with a 2-1 win over Civil Sporting Club at Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre, marking the end of the 2018 season. A brace from Hassan Kajoke helped Bullets to overcome the civil servants’ lead by Innocent Tanganyika. Civil sporting club displayed sportsmanship by giving the champions a guard of honor prior to kick-off. They have finished champions with 71 points from 30 games, breaking the league’s record of collecting such points. They have won 21 games, drawing eight times and only tasted a single defeat. Exciting news for Telekom Networks Malawi Limited (TNM) shareholders as the mobile phone network and ICT service provider has projected to register profit increase of about 60 percent. TNM has revealed about the prospects in a trading statement notice for the last half of the year 2017, signed by the Company Secretary, Christina Mwansa. Mwansa however stressed that the expected 60 percent profit after tax growth financial statement, have not yet been audited. A consolidated financial statement for the firm is expected to be made public by March next year following the board’s approval. The statement, which is in fulfillment of Malawi Stock Exchange listing requirements, comes after the company also posted an impressive profit in the first half of the year. TNM Employee Sues ‘Racist’ Indian Who Called Him Malawian Monkey

Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM)  Lilongwe-based employee, Temwa Msiska has dragged to court an Indian identified as Hassan Diab racial abuse when he called him a Malawian monkey. Msiska is demanding damages against on behalf of a minor, Hassan Diab, a child of Mohsein H Diab. Diab is alleged to have called Msiska a ‘Malawian monkey’ while seeking mobile phone services at TNM. According to summons obtained in the High Court of Malawi from the Lilongwe Registry, the accused, Hassan Diab, on August 15 this year went to a TNM shop in Lilongwe to have his SIM card replaced. However, upon checking in the system and noticing that the number belonged to someone else, Msiska said he could not replace it. Nchalo -based golfer Bregger Kaingwe and Carol Banda of Blantyre Sports Club have won the 2017 Nchalo Golf tournament in the men’s and women’s category respectively sponsored by Malawi’s converged mobile network and ICT service provider, TNM Plc, under the auspices of newly unveiled TNM “Think Digital” campaign. Kaingwe scored 44 points beating Davis Sibande who scored 39 while Carol Banda scored 30 in the women’s category to beat Estelle Roberts who came second.
