Chilima as Minister responsible for Disaster Management on Sunday opted to attend a Golden Jubilee of St Charles Luwanga Parish in same Zomba district, just two days after he delegated his junior officers to attend the funeral services of the deceased. Four learners of Natchengwa Primary School Sub-Traditional Authority (Sub-T/A) Ngwelero in Mayaka, Zomba died on June 6th, 2018 after a wall of a substandard school block fell on them due to heavy winds. Chilima who was the guest of honour at the launch of the National Bank Mo626 ice College Basketball tournament at the Blantyre Youth Centre observed that most sporting disciplines especially the minorities were slowly dying out because of not being given attention. ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) have recognized Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) as the Most Innovating entity in the public sector.
