Rumphi East Parliamentarian, Kamlepo Kalua on Thursday nearly got into a fight with Lilongwe Nsinja South counterpart, Lingson Belekanyama while Parliament was in session.
The two got engaged in heated war of words that nearly broke into a fight. They were arguing over remarks by Kalua made about a group of lawmakers that are alleged planning to impeach the Speaker, Richard Msowoya.
Belekanyama, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Parliamentarian, was not amused by the remarks and demanded Kalua to clarify.
Other MPs had to intervene for the two to cool off.
Kalua’s assertions were first made earlier this week by Chitipa South MP Werani Chilenga.
The house was adjourned early as there was no business to continue with proceedings for the whole afternoon.
Leader of the house Kondwani Nankhumwa asked for an adjournment soon after presentation of constituency statements under the private members business.NE
