Stunting works, but at times it backfires, more so if exaggerated. In political circles, calculations have to be strategic and mature enough to resonate well with intended objectives. Politics needs sanity in as much as we seem to tolerate anything, dishonesty inclusive. Well, the much touted Transformation Alliance launch was a big disappointment to me as a youth. The youth that have been privileged to spear head the youth league in politics are acting childish. President Peter Mutharika has congratulated Kenyan President, Uhuru kenyatta  for winning last week's controversial elections. Mutharika has also congratulated Rwandan President, Paul Kagame for being re-elected as that country's leader. Malawi National Assembly has been involved fraud, duping poor Malawians through obvious and laughable means. The Assembly which consists of 193 Parliamentarian is said to have defrauded tax-payers about K11.1 million. Audit report released by the Auditors General, the National Assembly also revealed that Another K21 million for good delivered to Parliament was not accounted for. In the first case, Parliament is said to have spent about K11 134 000 on airtime but there were no supporting documents to back and audit team was unable to ascertain its accountability. Embattled former President Joyce Banda has finally revealed how she is working hard with South Africa-based prophet Sheppard Bushiri and Chris Daza to fight President Peter Mutharika and his DPP administration. Malawi Police have issued a warrant of arrest for former President Joyce Banda currently in self-imposed exile in United States of America (USA) for her alleged involvement in cashgate scandal that saw over K40 billion of public funds stolen. President Peter Mutharika has made headlines for pardoning one of the convicted cashgate people, Esnath Nenani Ndovie who was given a three-year prison sentence last year. Ndovie is one of the 378 prisoners Mutharika pardoned as part of the country's 53rd Independence celebrations. Businessperson Ndovie was convicted on her own plea of guilty over a Cashgate transaction amounting to K12.9 million (about $23,035). Ndovie was found guilty on her own plea on charges of lending a business certificate for certification and money laundering, but argued that she was approached by a procurement officer from Ministry of Tourism to use her business registration certificate. President Peter Mutharika has decided not to renew Attorney General (AG) Kalekeni Kaphale’s contract which expired on 30th June, 2017, Nyasa Express can reveal. Mutharika is meanwhile appointed Charles Mhango, one of the country's seasoned lawyer and also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legal advisor, to take over as AG. Kachali severed as vice-president of this country under former President Joyce Banda’s two-year rule.
